I have been at it again… another great use for wordpress, I guess.
A little background. Some of the first free sites I ever opened on the net were about sex stories. Y’see, back in the day (before the net) connection speed online was pretty darn slow. Images could take minutes to download, and hours to get a whole set. Sex stories, just text, download real quick and with a little imagination, you could enjoy some pretty freaky adventures. Anyway, I have always enjoyed stories, so there you go.

If you are a Southpark fan, you know that Isaac Hayes (soul singer who’s career came back when he took the role of South Park’s Chef) has begged out of his contract with the show because he didn’t like them making fun of Scientology. The episode, aimed mostly at the annoying Tom Cruise, was quite funny the first time it aired. Well, recently the scientology people must have gotten pissy about it, as Comedy Central pulled a replay of the show apparently because Cruise threatened to not participate in promotion of a new movie he stars in, which is being made by CS’s parent company.
Anyway, turns out “chef” is also a scientologist, and he got a bee up his bum about all this and pissed off out of the show. He didn’t seem to mind when they made fun of catholics or muslims or jews… but scientologist apparently are off limits.
Anyway, the show must go on, and well, the show’s creators pretty much killed Chef off in the latest show. A fine fuck you to someone apparently a little too full of himself. Goodbye Chef, it has been fun, but don’t let the door slap your big ass on the way out.

I know, sometimes it is hard to tell, but the Simpsons are still making original episodes, and have been re-approved for two more years.  So you can look forward to more wild and zany adventures from Springfield.

Okay, I will admit it, I am a racing fan. Actually, I use to race a little bit (I have a couple of trophies) and I enjoy racing no end. Pretty much anything from formula 1 to lawn mowers. Racing is kewl. Anyway, I have owned this domains for a couple of years, and I didn’t really do anything with it, so I decided to step up and make it happen. So, check out racing news and let me know what you think about it. I will update it pretty much any time I find something interesting going on, it won’t be like a definitive news source, but I am a fan, and fans find kewl shit all over the place 🙂

Okay, I went last night with a couple of friends to catch the midnight showing of V for Vendetta. I had heard many good things in pre-release reviews, and a few bad things. After seeing the movie, I can only say one thing:
If you are intelligent, can handle not only action but actual dialog and concepts that need understanding, then go and see this movie. If you thought that XXX or Fast and the Furious was deep and meaningful, stay away.  V for Vendetta requires that your bring your mind with you, open and willing to explore ideas that are not spoon fed to you like sugar bites.
I won’t reveal the movie or it’s ending here, I always think that is unfair. I will say that the acting job of a man in a fixed mask and wig is truly amazing, as physical actions and the powerful words come together to give this character more depth and expression than can be imagined. The twists and resposition of people from “good guy” to “bad guy” back to “good guy” and “not so sure” is wonderful. There are many, many main characters in this movie, a pleasure in itself to see a movie that isn’t just a formulatic “guy and girl” film (although there is a nice undertone of the intimate relationships between many of the characters invovled).
I said to my friends when we left: 20 years from now this movie will be looked back on as a real look inside what was happening in the 2000-2008 period (the Bush years). There is incredible social and moral issues being put on the table and dissected with the accuracy of a V knife, sliced and held up to the light not to show the good and clean side, but to show the guts and the gore that comes with making difficult personal and moral decisions.  There is a discussion of power, and how power corrupts… and how absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Deep and meaningful, maybe for me one of the few movies since Trainspotting where I left the end of the movie feeling enlightened, entertained, depressed, and full of thought. For me, a movie that will go down as a classic look at good and evil, right and wrong… and how that right and wrong all depends on where you are sitting

Well, I went to check out Party Poker again to see what was going on. First off I got ANOTHER new version of the software, which is always a good thing. However, there are still some pretty major fuckups (I will get to that in a sec) and there is still some issues with the placement of things on the screen that bother me.
Then their network crached like a fucking rock for most of the overnight period. Once that sucker crashes, it is almost impossible to get things back going right.
Anyway, the next night I wandered back to play a game or two.  I am getting use to this higher chip count thing, although I could see a ton of players who don’t have a clue throwing way too many chips at really poor hands, thinking that 2000 chips somehow makes them richer than 800 chip for the same price did before. Little do they realize that the ratios of chips to blinds is different at the earlier levels, so in fact you are somewhat poorer in the end to start with. Anyway, these clowns are either rich with chips or flat as broke after a few hands.
While everyone I know says that the card selector / shuffling thing has not changed I will say that I have seen less and less major dog hands winning, and things seem to be back to a more normal level. It may be that the morons are still morons and the smarter players are not getting conned into staying in bad hands, but things just seem to be better.   Yes, I have won some tables and taken some tournament money in the last few days.
Anyway, I am keeping my eye on it all… we will see 🙂
